Pakistani Community in Japan Expresses Solidarity With
Kashmiri Brethren
Ambassador Kamran Niaz held a quarterly interactive
meeting with the overseas Pakistani community living in Japan at the Chancery here today. A
large number of community members participated in the open forum and
discussed matters concerning the community.
The proceeds began with observance of one minute
silence to pay tribute to Kashmiri martyrs and to express solidarity
with Kashmiri brethren in their just struggle to resolve the
long-standing Jammu and Kashmir dispute according to the UN
resolutions.
Ambassador Niaz stressed upon the
members of the Pakistani Community in his speech to work for improvement
of Pakistan’s relations with the host
country. He said government of
Pakistan
value the services and patriotism of the overseas Pakistanis and assured
the participants that the
Mission
would extend all possible help to service the community.
Subsequently, other issues relating to the welfare and common interest
of the Community were discussed. Some members asked questions concerning
with the
construction of the Embassy’s new complex.
Elaborating the salient features of the new Embassy, Ambassador pointed
out that the new complex would not only provide a spacious chancery
equipped with latest technology but would also meet complete housing
requirement of the officers and Pakistan-based staff.
In this way, government will save an amount
of one million US dollars annually which is being spent on the payment
of rent, he added.
Members of the Pakistani community, participating
in this interactive session, appreciated the measures taken by
Ambassador Kamran Niaz for welfare of the community.
